Honorary Membership
EWA awards the Honorary Membership to individuals, who have done a remarkable job in the European water sector.

Honorary Members 2025
On May 27th, during the Council Meeting in Oslo, Mara Pavelić (HR) and Johann Wiedner (AT) received the Honorary Membership of the EWA.
Mara Pavelić has been a pivotal figure in water management and environmental protection in Croatia. Since 2015, she has served as the President of the Croatian Water Pollution Control Society (CWCPS) and representing Croatia at the EWA. In 2019, she was appointed in the EWA Management Committee. Her work focuses on enhancing water quality standards and promoting sustainable water management practices across Southeast Europe.
Johann Wiedner also received the Honoray Membership and has been instrumental in advancing sustainable water and waste management practices in Austria. Since 2016, he has represented the Austrian Water and Waste Management Association (ÖWAV) at the EWA Council. His expertise and dedication led to his appointment to the EWA Management Committee in 2021.
Congratulations on their outstanding work and long-standing support, which has made a lasting mark on the association.
