21th EWA International Symposium: Water in the Green Deal

Date 15.05.2024 - 16.05.2024
Location IFAT Munich, Germany

The European Green Deal aims to turn the urgent climate and environmental-related challenges into a unique opportunity to achieve a resilient, resource-efficient, and circular economy and society by protecting, conserving, and enhancing the European natural capital, and - consequently - the health and well-being of citizens.

Within this ambitious strategy towards a sustainable future, the water and wastewater sector could – and should – play a fundamental role. Water and Energy Neutrality could – and should – contribute to the overall energy efficiency and clean energy transition. Water and Recovery of Resources could – and should – contribute to achieving a circular economy. To preserve or restore natural functions of ground and surface water, Sustainable Storm Water Management could – and should – play an essential role. But, at first, the environmental and water-related ambition of the Green Deal will not be achieved by Europe acting alone while the cooperative European and International Water Management is needed.

These independent but integrated water-related themes will be addressed by qualified European and International speakers, in active exchange of views with the audience, at the Water in the Green Deal as the 21th EWA International Symposium at IFAT 2024.
