18th EWA International Symposium""Challenges arising from Micro-Pollutants in Wastewater, Water, and Environment"

Date 31.05.2016 - 01.06.2016
Location Munich, Germany

18th Edition of the EWA International Symposium "Challenges arising from Micro-Pollutants in Wastewater, Water, and Environment"

Environmental pollution with micro-pollutants and their metabolites is mainly caused by municipal wastewater, pharmaceutical industry, and agriculture. The conventional wastewater treatment is not able to eliminate most of the xenobiotic compounds, neither in the aerobic stage, nor in the anaerobic digestion. In future, micro-pollutants could become even more critical as an increasing consumption of pharmaceuticals, herbicides, and personal care products can be assumed.

The 18th EWA International Symposium will be organised over two days, on 31 May and 1 June 2016. On the first day the occurence and analytics of micropollutants will be presented. On the second day the processes how to remove micropollutants are introduced.
